○ Total demand in August was up 4.7% on last year to 80.1 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

○　Demand excluding Extra High Voltage Demand
Lighting and Commercial demand posted increases of 4.7% and 4.9%, respectively.
The increases were due to higher tempretures in western Japan in July and August.

Demand from large industrial users was up for the thirteenth consecutive month, rising by 5.0%.

The increase resulted from firm performance in most industrial sectors, with particularly strong performance being noted in the steel and the machinery sectors.
