Total demand in November was up 4.4% on last year to 65.1 billion kWh across the ten companies.

Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand
Lighting and Commercial Demand posted increase of 7.8% and 3.1%, respectively. The increases were due to increased demand for heating caused by lower temperatures in eastern Japan from the middle to the end of November, and a longer meter-reading period for Lighting Demand.

Demand from Large Industrial Users was up for the sixteenth consecutive month, rising by 2.8%.

The increase was due to firm performance in the non-ferrous metals and machinery sector, despite poor performance in the textile and chemical sector.
