○Total demand in FY2001 was down 1.7% on last year to 824.1 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

○ Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand
Demand excluding extra high voltage demand showed a modest rise, with an increase of 0.8% in commercial demand, and a decrease of 0.1% in lighting demand. The modest results were due to decreased demand for cooling caused by lower temperatures in August and September, and for heating caused by higher temperatures in January and subsequent months.

(Reference) Large Industrial Demand
Large industrial user demand in FY 2001 was down for the first time in 2 years, declining by 4.0%. The decline was due to generally sluggish industrial
production that depressed performance in all sectors, with particularly poor results noted in the steel and the non-ferrous sectors.
