Electricity Demand in September 2001 (Bulletin)

(October 19, 2001)

[Demand Overview (Total Across the 10 Power Companies)]
›Total demand in September was down 1.8% on last year to 72.7 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

›Demand excluding Extra High Voltage Demand
Commercial and lighting demand both posted declines of 4.0% and 12.0% respectively. The declines were due to decreased demand for cooling, caused by relatively low temperatures in August and September, and a shorter meter-reading period.
