Demand Overview (Total Across the 10 Companies)
○Total demand in the first half of 2002 remained even at 420.5 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

○ Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand
Commercial and lighting demand posted increases of 0.3% and 0.9% respectively. The increases came despite decreased cooling demand caused by lower temperatures in June and July, and were attributable to increased cooling demand resulting from higher temperatures in August and September.

(Reference) Large Industrial Demand
Demand from large industrial users was up for the first time in three half terms, increasing by 0.3%.

The increase was due to the fact that performance in the chemical and steel sectors was better than in the previous year resuling from a recovery in production.
