Electricity Demand in September 2002 (Confirmed Report)

Demand Overview (Total across the 10 Power Companies)

　○　Total demand in September was up 3.9% on last year to 75.6 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

　○　Commercial and lighting demand both posted increases of 3.8% and 6.3% respectively, due to increased demand for cooling caused by higher temperatures in August and September.

　　　・　Lighting Demand (up 6.3%, 22.59 billion kWh)

　　　・　Commercial Demand (up 3.8%, 16.0 billion kWh)

　○　Large industrial user demand in September was up for the third consecutive month, increasing by 2.9%. The increase resulted from firm performance in all sectors except textiles and ceramics sectors.
