Electricity Demand in November 2002 (Confirmed Report)

Demand Overview (Total across the 10 Power Companies)

　○　Total demand in November was up 5.2% on last year to 67.3 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

　○　Commercial and lighting demand both posted increases of 3.0% and 10.2% respectively, due to increased demand for heating caused by lower temperatures in late October and in November, and a longer meter-reading period.

　　　・　Lighting Demand (up 10.2%, 21.46 billion kWh)

　　　・　Commercial Demand (up 3.0%, 12.28 billion kWh)

　○　Large industrial user demand in November was up for the fifh consecutive month, increasing by 3.1%. The increase resulted from firm performance in all sectors except the textile sector.
