Demand Overview (Total Across the 10 Companies)
○Total demand in the first half of 2003 was down 1.2% to 415.4 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

○ Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand
Commercial and lighting demand both posted declines of 0.4% and 1.6% respectively. The declines were due to decreased demand for cooling caused by record low summer temperature.

(Reference) Large Industrial Demand
With the economic recovery at a virtual standstill, growth was depressed in all large industrial sectors except textiles. As a result, large industrial user demand fell by 0.2%, bringing it to approximately the same level recorded in the first half of last year.
