(May. 30, 2003)
○ Total demand in April was up 6.2% on last year to 67.2 billion kWh across the 10 companies.
(Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand)
○ Commercial and lighting demand both posted increases of 7.0% and 10.8% respectively, due to increased demand for heating caused by lower temperatures primarily in March.
・ Lighting Demand (up 10.8%, 21.39 billion kWh)
・ Commercial Demand (up 7.0%, 12.61 billion kWh)
(Reference)
○ Large industrial user demand in April was up for the tenth consecutive month, increasing by 2.7%. The increase resulted from firm performance in all sectors except the textile sector. Performance in the chemicals and steel sectors was particularly good.
・ Large Industrial Demand (up 2.7%, 21.17 billion kWh)
