Demand Overview (Total across the 10 Power Companies)

　○　Total demand in July was down 2.4% to 68.9 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

(Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand)

　○　Commercial demand posted a decline of 2.5% due to decreased demand for cooling caused by lower temperatures in July. Lighting demand, although depressed by lower temperatures, posted a rise of 0.8% due to a longer meter-reading period.

　　・　Lighting Demand (up 0.8%, 19.10 billion kWh)
　　・　Commercial Demand (down 2.5%, 14.29 billion kWh)

　○　Large industrial user demand in July was down for the first time in thirteen months, decreasing by 4.3%. The decline resulted from poor performance in all sectors except the steel sector.
