(October. 31, 2003)
○ Total demand in September was up 0.6% to 76.0 billion kWh across the 10 companies.
(Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand)
○ Commercial and lighting demand posted increases of 1.4% and 0.9%
respectively. The relatively small increase in lighting demand resulted
from a shorter meter-reading period, which overcame increased demand for
cooling caused by lower temperatures from late August to mid-September.
・ Lighting Demand (up 0.9%, 22.80 billion kWh)
・ Commercial Demand (up 1.4%, 16.23 billion kWh)
(Reference) Large Industrial Demand (up 0.8%, 22.72 billion kWh)
○LLarge industrial user demand in September was up for the first time
in three months, increasing by 0.8%. The increase was attributable to an
upswing in the chemical and machinery sectors after an interval of three
months.
