Demand Overview (Total across the 10 Power Companies)

@›@Total demand in October was up 2.5% to 67.9 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

(Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand)

@›@Commercial and lighting demand posted increases of 2.8% and 7.5% respectively, due to increased demand for cooling caused by higher temperatures in mid-September and a longer meter-reading period.

@›Large industrial user demand in October was down for the first time in two months, decreasing by 0.6%. The decline resulted from poor performance in all sectors except the chemical, non-ferrous and machinery sectors.
