Demand Overview (Total across the 10 Power Companies)

　○　Total demand in January was down 1.8% to 76.2 billion kWh across the 10 companies.

(Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand)

　○　Lighting demand was down 3.2% and commercial demand remained even. The result was due to decreased demand for heating caused by higher temperatures from December to early January.
　　・　Lighting Demand (down 3.2%, 288.84 billion kWh)
　　・　Commercial Demand (0%, 13.54 billion kWh)

(Reference)Large Industrial Demand (up 0.4%, 20.95 billion kWh)

Large industrial user demand in January was up for the first time in four months, increasing by 0.4%. The rise was due to firm performance in the machinery, chemical and non-ferrous metals sectors.
