Electricity Demand in May 2004 (Confirmed Report)
2004/6/30
FEPC
[Demand Overview (Total Across the 10 Power Companies)]
Total demand in May was up 0.6% on last year to 64.8 billion kWh across the 10 companies.
(Demand Excluding Extra High Voltage Demand)
- Lighting Demand (up 0.1%, 19.72 billion kWh)
- Commercial Demand (up 1.3%, 8.61 billion kWh)
Commercial and lighting demand posted increases of 1.3% and 0.1% respectively. The increase in lighting demand came despite a shorter meter-reading period.
Note: Year-on-year changes in commercial power calculated by adjusting figures for the same period one year ago to match 2004 demand categories (for reference only).
(Reference)
- Large Industrial Demand (up 1.3%, 21.84 billion kWh)
Large industrial user demand in May was up for the fifth consecutive month, increasing by 1.3%. The rise was due to firm performance in the chemicals, the steel, the machinery and the non-ferrous metals sectors.
