The above parties announced today that "Pacific Sandpiper", the ship being used to transport the seventh shipment of vitrified waste which left Cherbourg, France on 5 December 2001, is scheduled to arrive at the port of Mutsu-Ogawara, Rokkasho-Mura, Aomori prefecture, on 22 January 2002. To aid the press in their coverage at the port of Mutsu-Ogawara, a room for the media will be set up. The pressroom will open at 9:00 AM local time on 22 January.
